Earthquake???
This post is to personally confirm that Virginia had an earthquake. By now, y'all have heard it on the news a million times, but I just had to say it anyways. It is the buzz here right now. My Facebook news feed is covered with "Was that an earthquake?" and other like posts. The first words out of my classmates' lips today was "Where were you when the earthquake hit?" And my friends from California are rightfully laughing at us. But let me just say that I would have never expected Eagle Rock, Virginia to ever, EVER, have a quake. I don't think anyone else did either. And I think that is why it is so scary for us East Coasters. It's not supposed to happen here!!! And now we're scared it's going to happen again. I know God's in control of everything, but I do not want to feel the ground moving under my feet again.

Not to sound mean, but Californians aren't the only ones who find this amusing.... I used to live on an island in Japan where tremors were monthly occurences. Haha yesterday after the earthquake I was listening to a radio news show reporting live from Washington, D.C. and earthquake stats and news was coming in as they spoke. Their conversation had nothing to do with the earthquake, but you could hear beeping in the background as the news alerts went off. Haha, the reporters were all 'earthquake info! this is crazy! so unusual!" and I was laughing my head off. :)

Emily, I know, I think that after about a day it quickly got old. It's gotten to the point that even I (who was scared to death at the time it happened!) was like, "ok, it really wasn't that bad! 4 out of 10 people in my house felt it, the other 6 had no clue that anything had happened.....but at the same time, both my parents have been here for 20 years and there has never been a quake in that period of time...so it's a bit scary....kinda like if Arizona had flooding or Kansas had a volcano pop up! :D
